Have you been in business for a few years? Great job, you’re obviously doing something right! But if you:
- find yourself feeling reluctant to give out your business card because that logo looks dated
- apologise that your brochure has superceeded content as you hand it out to a client
- hear comments that your clients couldn’t navigate your website or find the information they were after, or
- Start loosing custom to a good looking competitor who you know isn’t delivering the same high level of product or service you are…
– it could be time for a marketing makeover!
Why should you consider a marketing makeover?
You should give careful consideration before you go back to the drawing board with your marketing – after all, you’ve worked hard to build up equity in your brand. However, if your brand no longer represents your organisation or effectively promotes your products or services to your target market, it’s time to give serious thought to whether you need to refresh your brand or marketing tools.
Hook and Loop has extensive experience in developing and refreshing brands for businesses. We’ve also brought many organisations up to date with mobile friendly, responsive websites. Mobile friendly websites
The world of web design and the habits of consumers in using the internet, are both areas that have developed at an extremely fast pace over the last 5 years.
The ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) Communications Report 2012-13 showed an increase of 33% in Australians accessing the internet from their mobile phone in the 12 months between June 2012 – June 2013. The same report showed that mobile internet access has grown by 510 per cent since June 2008, when smartphones first started appearing. However:
Despite the growth in take-up of smartphones and activities performed online via mobile phones by Australian consumers, only 18 per cent of online SMEs actually had a mobile-optimised website at May 2013
What does this mean for you? Well, if your website has not been designed for responsive display on smartphones or tablets, you could be missing out on an increasing amount of web traffic.
If your website is over five years old, it may be time to consider a refresh to meet the requirements of today’s internet user. Even if you don’t intend to sell your product or service online, many consumers research their options online prior to getting in touch. If your website isn’t up to scratch, you may not even know how much business you’re missing out on.
